Hardik Pandya may return for ODI series in India’s Tour of Australia

India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya was suffering from a lower back injury after getting injured while bowling in an Asia Cup game against Pakistan in September. Asia Cup 2018 was won by India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Hardik has said that he's eyeing a comeback for ODIs against Australia which will start from 12 January next year. He is currently undergoing a rehabilitation process and is recovering from a lower back injury.

Hardik Pandya said, "I'm trying hard to be fit for the ODI series against Australia to start in January 2019. To get back to full fitness, I'm going through rigorous bowling sessions in Mumbai. I have just started bowling after 60 days. Once I bowl a few overs in the ODIs, I think I should be on the right track,".

Pandya’s absence helped his elder brother Krunal Pandya make a debut for India in the T20Is against Windies. Krunal was also a part of the T20I against Australia.

Hardik said, "I'm very happy to see Krunal representing the country Down Under. We are a formidable side and we should give a good fight to Australia who I believe are very strong in their own backyard. I am hoping for an exciting series."

Hardik Pandya is not a part of the Test series against Australia but he is a part of the India A side for the three one-day games against New Zealand A which will be played on December 7, 9 and 11. The side will be lead by Manish Pandey in that series.

Hardik Pandya uploaded his video on Twitter that stated that he is on his road to recovery. He is focused and determined and he has started bowling after a period of 60 days. The selectors will have a chance to test his fitness in the month of December.
